Palace Weddings

September 27th, 2013

photo by http://www.weddings.markcrockett.euHave you ever dreamed of getting married in a Palace?

Well, it is possible and it doesn’t even have to cost you an arm and a leg. There are many palaces that you can rent for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

The historic surroundings create an amazing setting and you save a lot on decoration costs, because the venue already is so decorative.

There are a few things you should consider:

1. Historic Value: Ususally only the ceremony can be held in an historic room. Things are just of such value that it can’t be risked to hold the reception inside the historic parts. Quiet often the sight restaurants are used for the reception and also outdoor terraces are perfect for example for the dance party. However if you are only thinking of a dinner with a small group and no children you might be able to book the dinner inside a palace room as well. You may want to check the details of terms and conditions in regards to damage at the location.

I work with two palaces here in Portugal and even if we have ceremonies during the day time we have enough privacy and of course some sight visitors will be there too, but they usually are very delighted to see that there is a wedding and wish the best to the couple. In many cases it also works to time the reception start fairly late when the last sight visitors are about to leave.
